Chairman's report: Both parishes had reported a large number of potholes to LCC Highways, some of which had been repaired but many remained and are a constant problem.
The sale of Scampton is back on but no progress has been made with regard to purchase by WLDC and Scampton Holdings.
Parish Council has achieved some things over the past year, with several litter picks and the telephone box refurbishment which is to be carried out later this month.
Discussions have been ongoing with the school and objections raised with Highways regarding the proposed parking restrictions.
Responsible Financial Officer's Report: Income for 2025/26 totalled £3K which was made up of £2.5K precept and £500 WLDC grant.
Expenditure for the year was £3161.42 with no significant spend other than a new defibrillator battery and shared cost of a laptop with Spridlington Parish Council.
For the first time since becoming clerk council has incurred VAT on purchases amounting to £63.80. This may be reclaimed.
Balance of £7655.02 has been carried forward to this financial year but £2282.50 is to be spent on the phone box using the £500 grant and £1782.50CIL monies. This leaves a balance of £880.57 in CIL.
Open meeting: Discussion took place regarding the bench for the bus shelter.
Mrs Mc Daid informed council that security spotlights have been installed on the school fence. The lights are operated by sensors but are facing the road not the school. This means very bright light is shining towards the properties across the road.
The chairman said that council will approach school with her concerns.
Mrs McDaid stated that the school bus to take children swimming is arriving at least 30minutes before time and is obstructing traffic.
The chairman suggested it parks in the layby. Clerk to write to school.
Mr Marsden said the school has been a victim of its own success as more pupils causes more traffic issues.
Mr Arndhobohm added that the layby should be for service vehicles only and not staff cars.
Discussion took place regarding the proposed Highways parking restrictions. It was agreed that the clerk send a copy of the council’s letter of objection to Cllr Jane Smith and request a meeting with both her and the head teacher.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 7.20pm.
