HACKTHORN and COLD HANWORTH PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of Hackthorn & Cold Hanworth Parish Council held on Tuesday 14th January 2025 at 7pm in Hackthorn Village Hall
Present: Councillors Pickering (Chair), Bright, Graves, Marsden and Finney.
In attendance: The clerk.
1. Apologies for Absence – Cllrs Cracroft-Eley & Allbone
2. To receive declarations of interest – There were no declarations at this point.
3. Minutes of meeting held on 12th November- Signed as a true record.
4. Chair and councils comments- None.
5. Clerk’s report on matters outstanding:- The police have been made aware of the recent cold calls and potential fraud in the village. The response from PC Toyn was circulated to councillors.
6. Reports from outside bodies:- No one in attendance. Clerk to contact the district councillors. Concerns raised about recent spate of burglaries in the area.
7. Planning- None.
8. LCC Highways matters:- The chairman confirmed that the West Lindsey road sweeper has swept the village and cleared the gully on road to A15. Potholes on road to A15, Hackthorn and in Cold Hanworth to be reported. Concern was raised about the number of dead tree branches on roadside and overhanging road leading to A15. The estate to be made aware.
9. Financial matters:- H. Pitman: £297.50; Hackthorn Village Hall: £25; LALC: £88.36. Payments approved.
10. To note general correspondence:- Circulated.
11. To further discuss & resolve on village project:-:Cllr Finney, Cllr Graves and the chairman to meet to compile a list of possible information to put on the interpretation panel. This will then be presented at the village coffee morning in March for parishioners to have their say. Agenda
12. To resolve on phone box maintenance:- Defer. Agenda
13. To discuss budget & resolve whether to make donation to Signpost magazine-: Awaiting accounts. Defer. Agenda
14. Items of information to be noted and if necessary to be dealt with at the next meeting:- Litter pick arranged for 8th March at 10am. Agenda items: Interpretation panel; phone box maintenance, donation to Signpost and plans for Annual Parish meetings..
