Minutes of the extraordinary meeting of Hackthorn & Cold Hanworth Parish Council held on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at 7.00pm in Hackthorn Village Hall
Present: Councillors Pickering (Chair), Finney, Bright, Graves, Marsden and Cracroft-Eley..
In attendance: The clerk. Mrs Natalie Pickering representing the school and 6 members of the public.

2. To receive declarations of interest – None
3. To discuss proposals by LCC Highways for restrictions on Main Street: The chairman opened the floor to Mrs Pickering to give background on the proposals and answer questions and for residents to express their opinions and concerns.
Following much discussion the council reconvened to discuss the proposals and formulate a response to LCC. While council agrees with concerns regarding the children’s safety, it feels improvements could be made in management of parking outside school rather than go immediately to permanent restrictions. However, council supports no parking in the lay by at any time, other than service vehicles and no waiting at any time on the corners of Beck Lane/Chapel Lane. If further parking restrictions are needed, it supports no parking outside the three houses opposite the school but it is not the preferred solution as the design enforces two way traffic outside school as the only passing place.
The meeting closed at 8.40pm.
